"We swam well for our first meet after our training trip," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Cathy Motta. "We have been practicing twice a day, so to have some of our swimmers qualify for the New England Regional Championships and swim seasonal bests is extremely encouraging. It was a great meet, Simmons has some talented swimmers, so they really pushed us. The win was certainly an accomplishment for our team."
The Corsairs improved to 1-6 with the victory, while the Sharks dropped to 2-4 with the defeat. The Corsairs will return to action when they visit Elms on Saturday, while Simmons will travel to Mount Holyoke on Saturday.
