Women's Swimmers 12th at NEISDA Championships

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth finished in 12th place at the three-day New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association Division II and III Championships, which concluded Sunday evening at the Tripp Athletic Center.
The Corsairs finished with 202 points. Keene State finished first with 899 points.
Junior Kathleen Foley (Haverhill, MA/Haverhill HS), who broke the school record in the 200 yard breast stroke trials Sunday with her time of 2:34.54, finished seventh in 2:34.81. Senior Lisa Sands (Taunton, MA/Taunton HS/UMass) finished 14th in the 200 yard butterfly in 2:21.89, freshman Kim Moore (Billerica, MA/Billerica HS) finished 12th in the 1650 freestyle in 19:33.70, and the 400 freestyle relay team of sophomore Lindsay Little (Danvers, MA/Danvers HS), Foley, Sands and freshman Brittany Dupuis (Milford, MA/Milford HS), finished 12th in the trials in 3:54.81.
"We swam great, we had a super meet," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Cathy Motta. "All of the hard work throughout the season certainly paid off, and all of our athletes swam seasonal or personal bests. It was great to see our athletes rewarded for their hard work and dedication over the 19 week training season. Now we can look forward to next weekend with the men."
The Corsairs will return to action at the NEISDA Men's Championships at Roger Williams next weekend.
