Hannah Schulze Gets LEC Women's Tennis Honors

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-A member of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's tennis team has been honored by the Little East Conference.

Sophomore Hannah Schulze (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford HS) has been named Little East Conference Player of the Week. It's the second consecutive week that a UMD player has been honored.

Schulze went 4-0 in her matches last week, winning crucial matches in singles and doubles as the Corsairs defeated Rhode Island College in a Little East Conference match last Thursday, 5-4. She won twice Saturday as UMD downed UMass Boston to improve to 6-0 this season.

"Hannah has been playing extremely well at the number two position," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Ralph Perry. "She has had the patience, the right attitude, the savvy and the sense to stay within her game plan. She is an excellent number two player who plays extremely well under pressure. I'm happy to see that she was honored."

The Corsairs will return to action when they host Worcester State Wednesday.
