Lahaie Named As Little East Women's Tennis Player Of The Week

UMass Dartmouth senior co-captain Jenna Lahaie was named as the Little East Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week on Monday afternoon for her efforts in helping the Corsairs claim three dual-match victories last week.

A native of Lakeville, Mass. and a graduate of Apponequet Regional High School, Lahaie was a combined 6-0 in singles and doubles play at the top spots of the UMass Dartmouth lineup, as she dropped just five total games in collecting a pair of conference wins over Bridgewater State and UMass Boston while adding a straight set triumph at Suffolk.  Jenna recorded her 40th career singles win in last Saturday’s Senior Day sweep of UMass Boston on the UMD Courts, and she teamed up with junior co-captain Jaime Fastino (Rehoboth, Mass./Dighton-Rehoboth) to notch three victories at the number one doubles position for the Corsairs.

UMass Dartmouth brings a four-match winning streak into the week, as Head Coach Doug Chapman’s Corsairs stand at 8-4 overall and 5-3 in Little East play heading into a non-league clash with Clark on Thursday, October 11th on the UMD Courts that begins at 3:30 pm EDT.
