DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- Sophomores Serena Bobola (Cranston, R.I.) and Hailey Raskob (North Smithfield, R.I.) each recorded wins in both singles and doubles play to lead Rhode Island College to a 7-2 Little East Conference women’s tennis dual match victory over UMass Dartmouth Saturday afternoon on the UMD Courts.
Senior Katherine Braganca (Pawtucket, R.I.), along with sophomores Victoria Vittori (New Bedford, Mass.) and Laurel Ten Eyck (Warwick, R.I.), also triumphed in singles play for the visiting Anchorwomen (4-0, 2-0 LEC), as Raskob teamed up with sophomore Grace Zangari (Saunderstown, R.I.) for a 8-2 win at number two doubles. Bobola and sophomore Emily Orticerio (Smithfield, R.I.) accounted for Rhode Island College’s seventh point with an 8-2 victory at the number three doubles position.
Senior Jenna Lahaie (Lakeville, Mass.) triumphed in both singles and doubles action in the setback for the host Corsairs (1-2, 1-2 LEC), as she improved to 3-0 in singles play with a straight set win over Zangari after teaming up with junior Jaime Fastino (Rehoboth, Mass.) for an 8-2 victory at number one doubles.
UMass Dartmouth hosts Curry in a non-league dual-match on Monday afternoon on the UMD Courts beginning at 3:30 pm, while Rhode Island College entertains Wentworth in a non-league dual-match on Thursday afternoon in Providence, R.I. that also begins at 3:30 pm.
