NEW YORK – Sophomore Kevin Cutler (Attleboro, Mass.) placed first overall in the high jump and senior Bailey Burke (South Yarmouth, Mass.) generated a personal best in the weight throw on Day 2 of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships this afternoon at The Armory.
Cutler cleared the bar at 6-9.50 feet to defeat the field and capture 10 points for the Corsairs. The jump puts the Attleboro, Mass. native in contention for a spot into the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships next weekend in Winston Salem, N.C.
Burke registered a throw of 48-02.50 feet to place her second all-time in UMass Dartmouth history. The senior placed 16 out of 40 competitors.
In the 500 meter dash, junior Summer Jones (East Bridgewater, Mass.) posted a time of 1:19.29 to take ninth place, while sophomore Hunter Carden (Branford, Mass.) crossed the finish line at 1:20.64 to finish in 16 place.
