NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-For the third week in succession, a member of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's track and field team been honored by the Little East Conference.
Sophomore Linee Mello-Frost (New Bedford, MA/New Bedford HS) has been named Little East Conference Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week.
At Saturday's Springfield College Invitational, Frost won the 55 meter hurdles in 9.15 seconds. She ran 8.99 seconds in the trials, and qualified for the Eastern Conference Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championships with that performance.
"I was very pleased to see that Linee has been named Little East Conference Track Athlete of the Week," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Steve Gardiner. "It's especially satisfying, seeing that she was one of the student-athletes at New Bedford High School when I coached there. It is gratifying to see her get this award."
UMass Dartmouth will return to action Saturday at the Wheaton Invitational.
