"Bridgewater is tough and when we play them, there is always a little extra rivalry," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Steve DeRossi. "This was the best we've played so far this year. It's the kind of volleyball I hoped we would've gotten to play sooner. We played really well in four out of the five sets. We gave some soft points away, and put ourselves in the situation we were in."
The Corsairs dropped to 1-7 with the defeat, while the Bears improved to 5-7 with the victory. UMass Dartmouth will return to action when they host Western Connecticut State and Lasell Saturday. Bridgewater State will host Mount Ida Monday.
