How it Happened
LaCroix and fellow outside hitter Nicole Silverman (Chelmsford, Mass.) both registered their ninth double-doubles of the season. Silverman led the Corsair defense with a career-high 21 digs to go along with 13 kills on 32 attempts, with LaCroix chipping in 10 digs. The Corsair offense was keyed by sophomore Jordan Rittberger's (Huntington, N.Y.) 38 assists.

Emmanuel received a team-high 12 kills from Samantha DeMarco (Rockland, Mass.), who converted on 22 attempts. Madison Majewski (Swansea, Mass.) and Carly Church (Higganum, Conn.) combined for 27 of the Saints' 33 assists on the match.

UMass Dartmouth started strong in the first set, never trailing en route to a 25-20 opening point. The Corsairs registered just four errors with 12 kills on 32 attempts (.250), while forcing six errors from the Saints.

The second set spelled much of the same, with UMass Dartmouth earning six-straight points to break a 3-all tie early in the set on LaCroix's serve. Once again, the visitors never trailed, going up as much as seven before wrapping up the 25-19 point.

Emmanuel responded in the third after trailing early. Following an 8-all score, Carly Sheehan (Medway, Mass.) served the hosts to five straight points and a 9-1 run. The Saints then held control to earn the third set, 25-18.

After trailing early in the fourth, UMass Dartmouth was ultimately able to avoid a fifth set. Sophomore Colleen Riley (Mansfield, Mass.) broke an 8-8 tie to swing momentum back in favor of the visitors, who eventually built a seven-point lead and closed the match at 25-19.
