NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-The coach who has led the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's cheerleading team for the past seven years has stepped down.

Scott Bouchard, who led the Corsairs to three National Cheerleading Association championships since taking over during the 2004-05 school year, has resigned.

Bouchard led UMass Dartmouth to the championship in the NCA Division II/III All-Girl Division in 2006, again in the All-Girl Division II Championships in 2008, and in the All-Girl Division III Championships, in 2009. Under Bouchard, the Corsairs finished second nationally in 2005, 2007 and 2010 and third in 2011. UMass Dartmouth also won NCA championships in 1999 and 2001.

UMass Dartmouth Director of Athletics Ian Day said that Bouchard's efforts were appreciated. "I want to thank Scott for all of his efforts that resulted in the continued success for our competitive cheer program," said Day.

The Corsairs will conduct a search for Bouchard's replacement.
