UMass Dartmouth juniors Donovan Prozinski and Ted McCaffery were named on Monday afternoon as the respective Little East Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player and Goalie of the Week for their performances in a pair of contests last week.
Prozinski, a native of Ashland, Mass. and a graduate of Ashland High School, scored seven times in the two outings for the Corsairs, including a hat trick that featured the game-winning goal with 45.6 seconds remaining in Saturday’s 8-7 triumph over Castleton at Cressy Field. Donovan, who leads the team in scoring with 16 goals and five assists for 21 points, added four tallies in last Wednesday’s 12-10 home setback to MIT, and he also collected 11 ground balls and caused five turnovers on the week.
McCaffery, a native of Pepperell, Mass. and a graduate of Bishop Guertin High School, earned his second straight Little East weekly accolade, as he made 25 total saves in the two contests. Ted registered 12 stops in Saturday’s win over Castleton after making 13 saves against MIT, and on the season he sports an 8.49 goals against average and 47 total saves for a .534 saves percentage.
Head Coach Ryan Murphy’s squad, which stands at 3-2 on the season, hosts Roger Williams in a non-league clash this afternoon at Cressy Field beginning at 4:00 pm EDT.
