Little East Conference Honors Andrew Foster

April 27, 2009

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-Junior attackman Andrew Foster (Danvers, MA/Danvers HS) has been honored by the Little East Conference.

Foster has been named Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Foster led the Corsairs in scoring last week with seven goals and three assists as they split a pair of Little East Conference games, defeating Salem State and losing at Western Connecticut State on a last-minute goal. He scored four goals against the Vikings, including UMD's final three goals of the game, which included the game-winner. Against Western Connecticut, he scored three goals and added three assists.

"Andrew is coming into his own this year," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Kevin Mahoney. "He is attacking the cage and is a threat every time he touches the ball. Andrew has worked hard throughout his three years at UMass Dartmouth, and is excelling in the field as well as in the classroom. He has been a role model for dedication and perseverance, and is the type of player that we love to have at UMD."

The Corsairs will visit Plymouth State for a first-round playoff match on Tuesday.
