May 3, 2010

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-Senior Ken Sims (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford HS) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's tennis team has been honored by the Little East Conference.

Sims has been named LEC Men's Tennis Co-Player of the Week.

Sims posted a perfect 4-0 record at number one singles and number one doubles against two Little East Conference opponents last week. He won in both singles and doubles against Rhode Island College and UMass Boston. The Corsairs defeated the Beacons, 9-0, and lost to the Anchormen, 6-3. Sims was responsible for two of the three UMD victories against RIC. He is the only senior on the UMD rosters, and is the team captain.

The Corsairs will return to action Tuesday when they begin LEC Tournament play at Bridgewater State.
