PLYMOUTH, N.H. -- Senior Kimberly Zuccaro (Townsend, Mass.) scored four goals to lead Plymouth State to a 17-1 Little East Conference women’s lacrosse victory over UMass Dartmouth Saturday afternoon at the New Hampton School.
The host Panthers (5-5, 3-0 LEC) overcame an early deficit to take a 12-1 advantage at the break, as senior Sarah Thompson (Hooksett, N.H.) added a hat trick and an assist for four points for the winners. Junior Sydney Dubois (Goffstown, N.H.) notched a hat trick as well for Plymouth State, which received a pair of tallies and a helper each from senior Veronyca Daniels (Concord, N.H.) and junior Sam Fiore (Merrimac, Mass.) along with three points off the stick of junior Lissa Perry (Salem, N.H.). Senior Emilee Wargo (Madison, Conn.) picked up the win in goal with a three-save effort for the Panthers, who held a 38-6 edge in total shots (28-4 on goals) and an 11-9 advantage in draw controls for the contest.
Junior Sam Muir (Stubridge, Mass.) accounted for the lone marker of the day in the setback for the visiting Corsairs (4-8, 0-3 LEC), which received 11 stops in goal from senior Kaitlyn Burchill (Bridgewater, Mass.).
UMass Dartmouth hosts Rhode Island College in a Little East Conference clash on Wednesday evening at Cressy Field beginning at 7:00 pm, while Plymouth State entertains Southern Maine in a Little East outing on Wednesday evening at the New Hampton School that also begins at 7:00 pm.
