KEENE, N.H. -- Sophomore Kaliana Palhof’s (Loudon, N.H.) goal in the 14th minute held up as the game-winner and lifted Keene State to a 1-0 Little East Conference women’s soccer victory over UMass Dartmouth Saturday afternoon at the Owl Athletic Complex.
Palhof converted passes from junior Sarah Carron (Feeding Hills, Mass.) and senior Patricia Norton (Hampton, Conn.) on the deciding tally for the host Owls (7-7, 4-2 LEC), as she scored from the left side of the cage. Junior Abbie Terrinca (Ludlow, Mass.) picked up the win in net with a pair of first half saves for Keene State, which received a second half stop from junior Shelby Offord (Shelton, Conn.).
Junior Jaimee O’Brien (West Springfield, Mass.) recorded eight saves in the setback for the visiting Corsairs (3-11, 1-5 LEC), as the Owls outshot UMass Dartmouth by a 19-8 margin overall (9-3 on goal) and took seven of the eight corner kicks in the contest.
