NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's swimming team swept a dual match against host Elms at the Partyka Natatorium Saturday. The men won, 132-130, while the women were also victorious, 148-86.

For the women, junior Kathleen Foley (Haverhill, MA/Haverhill HS) was victorious in the 100 meter butterfly in 1:16.82m, the 200 meter freestyle in 2:30.51, and the 100 meter breaststroke in 1:23.86, junior Kaitlyn Kewriga (Stoughton, MA/Stoughton HS) won the 100 meter backstroke in 1:18.72 and the 200 meter backstroke in 2:49.48, senior Lisa Sands (Taunton, MA/Taunton HS) won the 50 meter freestyle in 31.85 seconds, the 100 meter individual medley in 1:20.75 and the 200 individual medley in 2:49.77, freshman Kim Moore (Billerica, MA/Billerica HS) took the 800 freestyle in 10:31.53, freshman Brittany Dupuis (Milford, MA/Milford HS) won the 100 freestyle in 1:09.97, and freshman Katie Rolfs (East Kingston, NH/Exeter HS) won the 50 butterfly in 35.80.

For the men, sophomore Joe Krzystofik (Chicopee, MA/Chicopee HS) won the 800 meter freestyle in 9:52.58, sophomore Craig Johnson (Acushnet, MA/New Bedford HS) took the 100 butterfly in 1:04.80 and the 100 individual medley in 1:07.76, sophomore Steve Szarek (Middletown, CT/Middletown HS) won the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.40, sophomore David Adams (Tyngsboro, MA/Tyngsboro HS) took the 50 butterfly in 29.59 seconds, and the 200 meter freestyle relay team of Adams, Szarek, freshman Chris Currier-Haymes (Brockton, MA/Brockton HS) and sophomore Andrew Haughey (West Springfield, MA/West Springfield HS) finished first in 1:47.54

"We were happy with the wins," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Cathy Motta. "We are a little tired from the past two weeks of double sessions, and it was a bit of an adjustment to compete in a 25 meter pool. The men's team stepped, going 1-2 in the final relay to win the meet."

The Corsair men are now 2-3, while the women are 2-6. The Blazer men are 3-2, while the women are 1-9. The Corsairs will return to action when they visit Bentley Monday.
